Squash Coaching – Junior & Adult
- We offer a wide range of coaching opportunities here at the centre. We have two qualified Squash Coaches who organise the weekly activates and are also available for one-to-one coaching. They both coach people of any age and any standard, who want to improve their game. If you wish to speak with one of our coaches then their contact details can be found on the “Squash Coaches” page.
Below shows each element of our coaching program and which sessions are currently active:
- Junior Squash is currently thriving here at Bollington Health and Leisure. We offer coaching to children as young as 4 and go right through to the age of 18, ensuring they have a great understanding of the game and how it is played.
Current Junior Sessions are as follows:
Tot’s Squash – Ages 4-6 – Saturday’s 10:20am – 11:00am
Mini Squash Red – Ages 6 – 9 Sunday’s 10:20am – 11:20am
Mini Squash Orange – Ages 8 – 12 Saturday’s 1:00pm – 2:00pm
Transitional Group – Ages 8+ (Invitation only) Saturday’s 2:00pm – 3:30pm
Potential Group – Ages 8+ (Invitation only) Saturday’s 2:00pm – 3:30pm
Elite Group – (Invitation only) Saturday’s 3:30pm – 5:00pm
Beginners Squash – Ages 13+ Saturday’s 5:00pm – 6:00pm
The club has a good connection with the county organisation Cheshire Squash. They run a number of sessions throughout the year and a number of our juniors regularly attend Cheshire squad training sessions and inter-county matches playing for Cheshire.
Other than these organised coaching sessions the Club offers other ways for juniors to get involved. The Junior Squash ladder is a great way for juniors to compete against each other in a friendly but competitive way. At any time they can book a court and play each other, either after school or at the weekend. On Thursday nights, just before the senior team match night, there is a Junior Club Night which runs, allowing juniors to play each other in a mini-round robin. Hopefully some of the kids stay on to watch a couple of team matches and support Bollington Squash in their respective North West Counties leagues. Occasionally the coaches will organise matches with other clubs from around the area, giving juniors a chance to experience competitive team squash.
All juniors will need a registration form to attend any of our coaching sessions. These can be obtained from reception, from the coach or can be downloaded here: …..
If you are interested in signing your child up to Junior Coaching, please fill out the form and return it to reception. The coach will then be in contact to arrange the session. A number of our sessions have a waiting list, but by having the form the coach will be aware of your interest and will be able to get in contact should a space become available or new sessions starting.
- Coaching is not just for kids! We offer a couple of group coaching sessions for Adults during the week to help them improve and get into Squash.
Current Adult Sessions include:
#SquashGirlsCan – Ages 16+ – Monday’s 8:00pm – 9:00pm
Squash Coaching for women only, designed to attract more women to the game; which in recent years has been very male dominated.
Fitness4Squash – Ages 16+ – Friday’s 6:20pm – 7:20pm
Voted the world healthiest sport, this session offers the physical benefits of squash in a circuit style session. Normally the session ends with some squash based drills and practices.
Squash 101 – Ages 16+ Fridays 7:00pm – 8:00pm
For information on each session, speak to our Head Coach. Contact details can be found on the “Squash Coaches” page.
