Changes to Swimming Lesson Guidance
We are pleased to be able to welcome our U18 Swimmers back to lessons from Monday 12th April 2021. Unfortunately, current government guidelines do not allow any swimming lessons for those over 18. Therefore, our adult swimming lessons will remain postponed until further notice.
On Monday 12th April 2021, we will re-open, as previously, with all necessary COVID secure measures in place. These measures include:
- Arriving for Lessons :
Swimmers to arrive as close to their lesson start time as possible and to arrive “Swim Ready”
- Changing Rooms :
The changing room schedule will be on display, please check, on arrival, which changing room is allocated for your lesson time.
Please take note of the maximum occupancy signage found on the changing room doors. If the changing room is busy, please wait, outside the changing room, until an appropriate space is available.
Please can swimmers change as quickly as possible (before and after lessons)
Showers in the changing rooms remain unavailable. Before lessons, swimmers should use the shower on poolside
Please refrain from bringing pushchairs into the Changing Room
- Viewing:
Only one parent/carer per swimmer/s in the centre. If you can, please leave the building whilst lessons are taking place
When Viewing, please ensure you/r/household stand on one of the floor markings and remain within your ‘bubble’ If you have any additional children with you,, please keep all of your household with you at all times, (including the changing rooms and viewing areas)
Lessons
- Poolside :
A one-way system remains in operation on pool side. On entering the poolside, swimmers should adhere to the one-way system and wait at the appropriate √ until their lesson commences.
Arm discs, if required, should be put on (taken from the small grey baskets) prior to entering poolside. At the end of lessons, the arm discs should be placed in the tall baskets on poolside ready to be sanitised.
- Preschool :
Teaching remains to be from poolside and an adult must accompany their young swimmer in the water
- Learn to Swim (Stage 1 – 10).
Teaching remains to be from poolside only.
To allow your child to settle back into swimming and be comfortable in the water, teachers will not update your childs CoursePro / Home Portal record. Please be assured that, during this period, your child will still be learning the skills and movement patterns required to progress their swimming.
- Adult Lessons :
Under current government guidelines, lessons for those 18yrs + remain postponed (with the exception of SEND lessons). It is currently anticipated for these lessons to return on 17th May 2021
Payment for Lessons :
Payments/top-up your lessons can be made either via telephone or in person at the centre, the centre will be open from 6.30am on 12th April 2021. Alternatively, you can also make payment from the comfort of your own home, on-line (via home-portal). Please note, to retain your allocated lesson your lesson balance must be in credit prior to starting your first class after reopening.
