Towards our on-going projects
Did you know we’re a charity?
It’s true, we’ve been serving the local community since 1977 and today we are able to provide a gym for over 1500 members, exercise and leisure facilities for hundreds more and renowned swimming classes to thousands of children every week.
None of this could happen without the support of everyone in the local community.

Bollington Leisure Centre, now Bollington Health & Leisure, has been serving the community since 1977 and today we are able to provide a gym for over 1000 members, exercise and leisure facilities for hundreds more and renowned swimming classes to thousands of children every week.
We are dedicated to providing you with the very best in leisure facilities for years to come, but as the Leisure Centre is a registered charity we can’t do this on our own. All the money we make is reinvested in the day to day running of the Centre, leaving very little in the pot for projects.
We are only here because of the determined fundraising of local people in the 1970’s and 80’s that made it possible for the Centre to be built and stay open through hard times, but over 35 years of operation has taken its toll on facilities.
In 2012 – 2013 with your help we were able to raise over £50,000 through fundraising activities, donations and grants; because of this we have been able to address issues with the pool roof and completely overlay it with a much needed new membrane.
We have no doubt that the same community spirit that started our story in 1977 still prevails today, so we will be continuing to run a series of fun events, activities and initiatives to raise the funds we need to bring the Centre up to date, starting with the changing rooms.
If for any reasons we are unable to raise the amount needed for large projects or there are surplus funds left over, we will use the donations to address other much needed developments within the Centre.
We’ll be publishing more information about fundraising activities on our website and Facebook page soon, so watch this space for details of how you can get involved.
